Application sequence

  1. 1

Measure and obtain a qualified assessment

Confirm the tree is at least 40 cm DBH and get a current quote from a qualified arborist.

  2. 2

    Submit the application before work

The City reviews the application and may arrange a site visit or request photographs.

  3. 3

    Wait for approval

If approved, the City issues an Offer of Award. Only then should the approved work be scheduled.

  4. 4

Complete and pay for the work

The contract remains between the owner and contractor. The City does not pay contractors directly.

  5. 5

    Submit proof of payment

Provide a receipt or paid invoice showing a zero balance. City staff may verify the completed work before issuing the cheque.

Not eligible after the fact

Do not start work before assistance is approved. Work required by a City Order is also excluded from the program.
